Melanie and Drew are some of the greatest people you’ll ever meet.  They have awesome senses of humor, are so kind and welcoming, and are fun to be around.  Plus they’re in love and really good looking, so being their photographer made me very happy.  My aspiration to be among the destination wedding photographers in this world is still so strong, but seeing unique and beautiful OKC weddings like this makes me happy to be here for the time being.  Their wedding day was an absolute dream (how do my second shooter, Colleen, and I luck out so much?)–natural light, a simple and stunning color scheme, good wardrobes all around (Melanie’s shoes are the coolest bridal shoes I’ve seen in a while), fresh flowers everywhere, heartfelt toasts, letters, dances, rooftop couple photos, and lots and lots and lots of brunch.  Melanie and Drew got married at Quail Springs Baptist Church in the morning with their closest friends and family members surrounding them and then had an early afternoon reception at the Magnolia Room in downtown OKC where a ton more friends came to have a good time.  They had people travel from all over.  It was amazing to see everyone so filled with joy over celebrating the love between two people.  It was a gorgeous day and they hired some of the best vendors ever, which made everything come together so wonderfully.  Emerson Events was their day of coordinator and did all the lovely floral arrangements.  Cheever’s (aka my favorite restaurant in the city) catered.  They also had a coffee bar, bloody Mary bar, and a mimosa bar.  There just aren’t things much better than that.  Can we also talk about how much Beyonce they played on the dance floor?  It was a lot.  And it was awesome.

I also love Melanie’s dancing face.  I think there may be a shot in here with her making it.  It rules.

Thank you so much, Melanie and Drew, for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day.  You two fit.  You make sense.  I am so happy you two found each other.

Enjoy.
